From Laura's Perspective
Laura Bell grew up in North Carolina, honing her bookkeeping skills at her family’s car dealership. After moving to Oklahoma, she started doing bookwork for horse businesses because she was riding and showing reining horses at the time.
“Melanie and I had a mutual friend who said, ‘Melanie needs you, she just doesn’t know it yet,’ Laura said. “I was originally hired in March of 2021 to do only about six hours of work per week. That quickly escalated into full-time. Billing is not Mel’s favorite thing to do, but it’s what I do and what I’m good at, so started working with her on that…and it’s a big job.”
Laura is handy with a horse, too, and she can fill in to give an IV injection or help catch or hold horses. Plus, she’s an expert at explaining all aspects of the process to customers – whether it’s through Solo Select’s online sales or any element of the breeding program.
