World Championship Victory Seals Pride And Joyy's Status as Top Earning Stallion with $313,423 in Earnings

Pride And Joyy, known as “Kilo,” claimed victory last night at the AQHA World Championship in the Junior Heeling with trainer Miles Baker in the saddle. The win marked the first world championship for both Kilo and Miles, solidifying their place in AQHA history and raising Kilo’s lifetime earnings to an impressive $313,423. Of that, $263,289 was earned in heeling, securing him the title of the highest-earning team roping stallion of all time on the QData Leaderboards. Kilo is owned by Kaleb Terlip, Relentless Remuda and Solo Select.

"As a horseman you dream of having a horse like this and having an opportunity to achieve something like we did tonight," said Miles Baker. "This feeling will never go void for me because I know tonight I was able to give this horse what he deserved. He is the best individual I’ve ever been able to ride in the heeling, and for me to be able to execute on him and give him the title he deserves is a dream come true for me. There’s not another title that fits this horse better than “World Champion”

“This horse has so much integrity,” says owner Melanie Smith. “We always knew Kilo was special, but seeing it proven with his achievements is rewarding. A World Championship title and becoming the highest-earning rope horse stallion of all time—that’s the dream for all of us. I’m proud for Miles Baker, who has dedicated the last two years to developing Kilo. Seeing all that hard work culminate in his first World Championship is exciting”

Pride And Joyy’s path to becoming a World Champion began under the skilled hands of Chris Dawson, who trained him as a reined cow horse, where Kilo placed 6th in the NRCHA Open Futurity—a prestigious accomplishment in its own right. Chris won over $50,000 in Kilo’s three-year-old year alone, showcasing the young stallion’s immense potential from the start.

“We knew this horse could have continued to win at the open level in the reined cow horse,” Melanie adds. “But when Miles rode him at Chris's, we felt he was special.”

Pride And Joyy is sired by Stevie Rey Von, the NCHA Open Futurity Champion, and was bred by Ty Smith, raised at Solo Select on behalf of then-owner Renee Cudd. Ty, reflecting on Kilo’s journey, shared, “It’s always rewarding to see one come full circle. We have long been supporters of Metallic Cat and Stevie Rey Von with Alvin, and we are proud to have raised a horse of this caliber. We think this is just the beginning of a big career for him.”
