2023’s Top Rope Horse Futurity Earner ‘Time To Glo’ Joins Solo Select Stallion Lineup

Stallion Time To Glo, the black, 2019 son of Hickory Holly Time who’s earned some $140,082 in just a year and a half of competition, will join the elite Solo Select Stallion lineup, with the stud now owned by Time To Glo Partners, under the guidance of Ty Smith.

Time To Glo is the 2023 Leading Competing Roping Stallion, two-time AQHA Reserve World Champion and two-time Gold Buckle Superhorse. With a full year and a half remaining in his futurity career, Time To Glo will compete as part of the Relentless Remuda, shown by Trevor Brazile and Miles Baker.

“He’s a dang good horse,” said Cade Rice, ARHFA World Champion, who jump-rode Time To Glo to the December 2023 Gold Buckle Superhorse title. “He’s simple. That horse scores exceptional. In the heeling, you just set him up through the turn and his timing is impeccable. He just drags his butt and takes the jerk and makes it simple for you. That horse does everything very pretty.”

Ty Smith, CEO of Solo Select, has watched Time To Glo and all of his siblings, and he was ready to add the horse to his arsenal for Solo Select Stallions.

"Ty has put a group of exceptional individuals together to partner on Time To Glo, all committed to furthering the rope horse futurity industry," said Melanie Smith. "Each partner involved with this horse has a proven track record of breeding, raising, and owning great horses. We all have aligned interests, and each person brings something unique to contribute to this horse's continued success."

Time To Glo is out of the rope horse industry’s original blue-hen dam, CD O Cody daughter Look At Her Glo, the all-time leading dam of rope horse money earners. Bred and raised by NCHA Hall of Famer Bobby Lewis, Time To Glo has twice been the Superhorse of the Gold Buckle Futurities, having won across heading, heeling and tie-down roping.

“This stud brings together Look At Her Glo, who’s produced CSR Dual Glo, Dual Patron and J Lows Glo, too—some of the best horses to ever do it, by three different sires—and Hickory Holly Time, Dean Tuftin’s World’s Greatest winner,” Ty Smith said.

Shown by ARHFA World Champion Joseph Harrison, Time To Glo won the Reserve AQHA World Championship in the Junior Heeling, too—one of three horses in the same class to break the AQHA’s arena record for the high score in the event.

“He’s so good-minded and very athletic,” Lewis said. “He’s got a lot of run, and a lot of stop. He’s coal black and smooth riding and he’s been easy the whole time. He’s very willing. He acts like a gelding, and he has a lot of talent. His mom has rarely missed making a great one.”

Solo Select will announce the horse’s breeding opportunities in fall 2024, standing at Solo alongside stallions The Darkk Side, Pride And Joyy, This Catt Shines, Plain Catty and Metallic Cattack. He will be available to breed to Select Genes’ mares, offering unprecedented access to the industry’s deepest pool of black-type genetics.
